Trace Drawings
Trace Drawings are controlled by external parameters, limitations imposed by materials external to
the body. Emphasis is on the execution of the process.
Trace in this instance has two meanings; 1) the physical action of tracing an object in order to
leave a trace, a visible mark of something once present; 2) to trace and record unseen pathways
and connections between points. Tracing is a type of mimicry that accentuates 'spaces between'
(altering perception on distance and presence), making the invisible visible.
