Drop Prints
Take an object preferably something flexible, something
that supports the idea “in a state of flux”. The ink is
another way of communicating accumulation, accretion
and process. Each panel or section of the work is part
of a greater whole. How that is read and/or organized is
up to the viewer.
We are all makers and curators, organizing and caring
for our personal environments in different and unique
ways. The idea of multiple readings of any work of art is
essential to discourse leading to higher levels of
cultural awareness. Art operates as a jumping off point,
a tool for the purpose of reflecting the lives we live,
undeniably influencing our perceptions. To reflect back
onto the work and to see ourselves in the work is a form
of introspection and possibly raising issues of self
awareness, a transcendental act.
